1967-68 Bug Sprint Vintage Go Kart

Completely restored 1967-68 Bug Sprint on original frame, not one of the later replica frames. It belonged to a VKCA member, Chet Yashuk. I purchased it from his wife after his passing- purchased on March 24, 2020- right in the thick of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Some of the kart highlights:
* McCulloch MC93 Kart Engine (1977) with Azusa Header
* Tillotson HL-368A Carburetor (Alcohol)
* Chilton 5-Quart Chrome Fuel Tank
* Airheart Disc Brake System
* Aluminum 5" Tri-Star Wheels
* Vintage Speed Tires

The history, as I have learned it:
- Chet Yashuk was the owner of the kart
- Steve Shaw did the restoration
- Motor built and tuned by Terry Ives
- Tom Smith helped Chet with the kart, according to Terry

The kart is in overall very good condition. The fuel tank has a small rash on the left edge. The paint is not perfect, but the kart has been well maintained- it is perfectly tuned/adjusted and is ready to hit the track today.

When I purchased it, I was told that it had never been to the track yet- just a few fun laps around Chet’s cul-de-sac. I only took it out two times, so the motor literally only has about 2 hours on it. It’s a very solid, quick and nimble kart- a great handler! Here, I have a screenshot of my day at Redding, where the kart hit nearly 60 mph. It was the first day out for both me and the Bug- a shakedown day for the kart and a day for me to get acquainted with karting. The next time out at Santa Maria was a little quicker, where we hit 65 mph.

If you need verification on the kart, you can always reach out to Steve Shaw (current VKCA Vice President), Gary Wlodarsky (former VKCA President) or Terry Ives (National Champion and Guru).
